Chapter 14 takes us elsewhere in this world, on a huge airship.
We can observe human and robot slaves maintaining the machinery of the ship and foremen compelling them.
A small flying robot (the one of Chapter 3, found in a forest, and captured later) managed to elude the guards and fled into the ventilation system . Thus, it happens over a meeting room where captains are in confab. It recognizes a familiar face, that of Lord Maximal, renowned or his cruelty .
Listening to their conversation, he realizes the magnitude of a plot to overthrow the Republic of Sinewave, a peaceful country which is known for the popular and egalitarian aspect of its system. The purpose of the operation seems to take possession of a temple where they would find a terrifying power.
Having considered the danger, the robot prepares to flee. But, moving to exit the ventilation system, it is discovered. It rushes to leave the ship as soon as possible, from hallway to hallway to finally found a door to the outside, which it opens with its digital faculties, and jumps.
